What To Do On Daniel Island This Weekend

April 23, 2014

If you’re interested in getting a taste of what life is like on Daniel Island, this weekend would be a good time to visit. Here are our picks for the top things to do in Charleston’s island town in the days ahead.

Enjoy Live Music at “Sundown on the Wando”
The weekend kicks off with the return of Daniel Island’s “Sundown on the Wando” summer concert series this Friday, April 25th from 5:30 – 8:30 pm on the banks of the Wando River at the end of River Landing Drive. Plane Jane, one of the Carolinas’ best party bands, will perform at the first “Sundown” concert of the season, playing upbeat tunes from the 60s to the present, including shag, disco, top 40 hits and rock n’ roll. This band is all about keeping the crowd on its feet, with six vocalists who harmonize to form a trademark vocal sound while two multi-instrumentalists rev up the audience. The DIG RIG will be on-site selling food, along with Dave’s Delights Frozen Treats. If you prefer, bring a picnic to enjoy while at the concert. Be sure to bring lawn chairs and blankets for seating. The event is free and open to the general public. Future “Sundown on the Wando” concert dates are June 13th and July 3rd.
