9/11 Heroes Run on Daniel Island
Daniel Island is one of 40 locations around the world that will host the “9/11 Heroes Run” this Saturday, Sept. 7. This event is taking place around the world to honor the heroes of 9/11, as well as all military and emergency responders who sacrifice their lives for our country and communities. The Daniel Island event kicks off with pre-race activities beginning at 7:30 am in front of the Daniel Island Fire & Police Station, and ends with an “after party” at the Family Circle Tennis Center. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Lowcountry Firefighter Support Team, a non-profit organization that supports all firefighters in the region and their families through education, community outreach and clinical services. Restaurant Week
If you like dining out, this is the week for you! All around Charleston restaurants are participating in Charleston Restaurant Week by offering prix fixe menus consisting of three items for one price – either $20, $30 or $40. Tees & Turtles Golf Tournament
It’s a beautiful time of year for golf in the Lowcountry! Extend your weekend and join the South Carolina Aquarium and the Family Circle Cup for the second annual Tees & Turtles Golf Tournament on the beautiful Beresford Creek course at the Daniel Island Club on Tuesday, Sept. 10. Proceeds from the Tournament will benefit the Aquarium’s Sea Turtle Rescue Program, which aids threatened and endangered sea turtles rescued from along the east coast. Click here for details.
