Our Downtown Is Growing!
As the landscape in our downtown continues to change, you’ll soon see new additions to our island town that will add to our community’s diverse business and residential offerings.
Later this summer in the center of town, the first residents will move into the luxury apartments at Simmons Park, and corporate offices will open their doors within Central Island Plaza, a 75,000 office building on Island Park Drive. Nearby, construction will soon begin on high-end apartments and retail space at Central Island Square and a second gas station and convenience store located at the base of the I-526 interchange.
There is also construction activity underway near the entrance to Daniel Island Park: The Woodfield Apartments will be complete later this year, bringing additional high-end living opportunities to this part of town. You’ll also soon be hearing more about new independent and assisted living communities, which are currently in the planning stages.
As you can see, there’s lots happening this summer in Charleston’s island town!
