Easter Celebrations On Daniel Island

March 22, 2013

Easter is a special time of year, especially here on Daniel Island. With two sunrise services scheduled to take place in serene waterfront settings within Daniel Island’s parks, and a festive Easter Egg Hunt at the Family Circle Cup, residents and visitors of all ages are invited to come out to celebrate Easter island-style.

Church of the Holy Cross
The Church of the Holy Cross Daniel Island will hold an Easter Sunrise Service at 6:30 am at Smythe Park. Beautiful gardens, magnificent oaks and a lovely water view will provide a stunning backdrop as the sun rises over the Wando River. Seating will be provided, and a band will perform Traditional Hymns with Contemporary arrangements at this a very special worship experience.

Providence Baptist Church
Providence Baptist Church will hold an Easter Sunrise Service at 7:00 am at Children’s Park on Daniel Island overlooking the Wando River. The service will last approximately  hour. It is strongly suggested that worshipers bring folding chairs or blankets, as well as bug repellent for this early morning service.

Easter Egg Hunt at the Family Circle Cup
This year, the community’s popular Easter Egg Hunt is taking place on Sunday, March 31 at the Family Circle Tennis Center as part of the Family Weekend festivities at the Family Circle Cup. The action starts at noon on the Grand Lawn. Thousands of eggs will be hidden, and separate hunts will be offered for ages 0-3, 4–7, and 8–10. There will also be a special visit from the Easter Bunny! Families are encouraged to show up early so as not to miss out – the Egg Hunt will be over in a Flash!

Happy Easter from Charleston’s Island Town!
