Daniel Island Celebrates the Opening of the 2013 Coastal Living Showhouse

July 7, 2013

A sultry breeze across the Wando River cooled the late-June evening on June 26 as guests joined the Daniel Island Company, Daniel Island Real Estate and the team at Coastal Living magazine for a festive celebration of the opening of the 2013 Coastal Living Showhouse. Approximately 200 guests arrived by Charleston trolley to be among the first to tour this annual showcase of coastal design and style.

Guests were treated to a “Coastal Breeze” cocktail upon arrival, live music from the back yard and a buffet featuring coastal treats like succulent shrimp and lobster rolls from the culinary team at the Daniel Island Club.

The event brought together key members of the project’s team – including builder Jamison Howard of Max Crosby Construction, interior designer Ginger Brewton, Suzanne Stern of Our Town Plans and landscape designer Jeff Elliot of the Daniel Island Company, with the editors of Coastal Living magazine and the project’s sponsors.

“We’ve enjoyed a long-time partnership with Coastal Living and are so pleased to have had the opportunity to work with them to showcase coastal living on Daniel Island,” said Carolyn Lancaster, Vice President of Marketing for the Daniel Island Company, which sponsored the party along with Coastal Living magazine. “The entire design team did an outstanding job on this project.”
